They banned AI: Why your organization might be next

AI tools are transforming how we work—and how fast sensitive data can be exposed. A recent conversation with a customer made this clear: after a single demo showing what an AI agent could access, their CISO banned all AI tools across the organization. This isn’t fear-mongering. It’s a reminder: if data can be accessed, it can be leaked. And with AI, access has never been easier.

At Nordic Business Forum, we’re meeting leaders who see the opportunity in AI but also recognize the risk. The real question isn’t whether you’ll use AI—it’s whether your data is ready for it.

It started with a chat I had with a customer who had just made a drastic decision. Their CISO, after seeing a demonstration of what an AI agent could access internally, had ordered all AI agents to be uninstalled and banned across the organization. The realization was obvious: their data simply wasn’t protected for this new time of super-efficient information access. That moment just highlighted what we’ve known for a long time: if the data can be accessed, it can be leaked, and with AI, everything had truly changed.

We help organizations build strong ways to protect their data, especially as AI becomes a key part of daily work. Our method isn’t about fancy words; it’s about being actively prepared. We use over twenty years of deep knowledge in how to organize and classify data – skills we built long before today’s AI world – to help you understand and control your data. This makes sure it stays safe and follows rules, no matter how clever the access method. We make complex challenges clear and give you real steps, based on our solid experience.

The truth is, AI agents now sitting on people’s computers can quickly search, combine, and show information from all over your company’s digital assets. This means the old, quiet way of protecting data – hoping sensitive information was safe because it was simply too hard for a human to find – is gone. That was never a good security plan, but now, with AI making access much easier, it’s a serious weak point. To ensure your data safety on all levels, it needs to be labeled and protected right from the start. This proactive approach offers protection against both accidental and intentional leaks.

Our main rule: “If data can be accessed by anything, it can be leaked by anyone.”

We’re at Nordic Business Forum to meet leaders who understand that AI is vital for the future of business, but keeping company data secure is just as important.

“For your business, the real risk with AI isn’t about robots taking over; it’s about your most important data becoming exposed. The answer is to be actively prepared, which you can do with proper data protection.”
