Our future job is to become better humans

Nordic Business Forum 2025 made me reflect on leadership. What does successful leadership look like when tech moves faster than your to-do list? And what is the human role in this increasingly AI-powered chapter of our lives?
The answers, echoed consistently across keynotes, panels, and conversations with visionary leaders:
- Thriving in change requires curiosity, constant learning, and a growth mindset.
- No matter how advanced technology gets, success ultimately comes down to people.

Get excited and curious about the constant change
I’ve always believed that the only true constant is change. It’s not something to resist – it’s something to face with a growth mindset. All the aspirational leaders of the event talked about the importance of curiosity. How you must see change as a positive thing, get excited about it. What all cool it can bring to you, what all new it can teach you, what all the great opportunities it holds to you. All the greatest opportunities of your life lie in the greatest uncertainty – and through change.
“Change is inevitable, but our growth is optional“ – Diana Kander, NBF 2025
The key of curiosity is the love of learning. Waking up everyday to the blessing of all you can learn. Going to work everyday as if it was your first day on the job. Filled with curiosity, questions, and questioning. Why are we doing things this way? What is something that we should stop doing? What is the 2.0 of tomorrow? Who can help me achieve it? That’s the growth mindset.
I loved how several speakers highlighted the role of students and juniors in organizations. Juniors who are trying new things fearlessly, testing new tools, are AI-native by nature – much needed in the organizations. I agree with the idea that it doesn’t matter what your title is at work, the only thing that matters is the impact you make. If you are not making a change in your workplace – what are you doing?
“The greatest leaders all consider themselves students” – Simon Sinek, NBF 2025

Humans’ future job is to be better humans
The most inspiring and resonating talk to me was the talk with Angela Ahrendts, former CEO of Burberry and SVP of Apple Retail. She put it amazing: In the world of technology, humans’ role is to be better humans. The leaders of tomorrow are compassionate, empathic, authentic. Emotions are not to be shamed or to hide, they are bringing us closer – in the workplace too.
“There’s never going to be a wrong decision if you trust your heart” – Rick Rubin, NBF 2025
I’m genuinely passionate about technological progress. I get extremely excited by the fact that AI and automation can take repetitive tasks off our plates, freeing up space for what really matters: creativity, strategy, connection, purpose. I see the biggest add on value for humans in cooperation and companionship. And the “so what” part for technology and data. What do these numbers mean, what is the purpose of this tool, why are we even doing this. And what is the add on value for the people of technologies such as AI.
“If u get the AI part right, but you don’t have the people part right, you may not have company at all” – April Rinne, NBF 2025

As I left NBF, feeling empowered and grateful. Of being an infinite student of people, technology, business, and change. In a workplace that encourages to learn, surrounded by people who share the excitement to grow and innovate. Working in a team that supports your journey and sees the potential in you. Who creates the sense of psychological safety, where you can be yourself and show your emotions. To try, iterate, change and grow, together.
AI is taking our tasks, which is great. That exactly gives us the freedom to do what us, humans, do best: care, create, connect, and lead.
